Installation, first steps, requirements, recurring problems and uninstalling. For anything not covered on this page: supporto@turbofix.it.
How to install it
- Download TurboFix-Setup.exe from the download page.
- Double-click the downloaded file.
- If the Windows warning appears (see below), choose Run anyway.
- Follow the setup wizard: TurboFix installs into "Program Files" and creates the shortcuts.
- Open TurboFix: there's nothing to choose, the available features depend on the license.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit).
- Microsoft's .NET 8 Desktop runtime, required to run the program: if it's missing, the installer adds it once.
- Administrator rights for some features (sensors, services, maintenance).
After installing
1. Look at the PC status
The opening screen shows the computer's health score and the main measurements: processor, memory, disk. Check now does the full round with one click.
2. Free up space with the cleanup
In the Free up space section you choose what to remove (temporary files, caches, Recycle Bin) and press Clean. Nothing is touched without confirmation.
3. The rest, when you need it
Diagnostics, startup programs, restore points, guides for the Windows checks: they're there when you need them. The ones that can change something always ask for confirmation before starting.
A tip
Before delicate operations it's worth creating a restore point (Restore points section): you can always go back.
Recurring problems
It takes a while to open the first time
That's the antivirus checking the file for the first time. With the lightweight Setup the wait is minimal; after the first launch it starts right away.
The update won't start
Check that you're connected to the internet. TurboFix checks for updates at startup and from Settings → Updates. If the website can't be reached, it simply reports nothing.
If it still won't start after these checks, there's no need to uninstall anything: download the program (11 MB) and install it over the existing version. It's the same installer as on the website: it brings the .NET 8 Desktop runtime along if it's missing, and leaves your license, settings and PC history where they are.
A feature asks for administrator permission
That's correct: maintenance operations require elevated privileges. Grant them only if TurboFix was downloaded from the official website.
I selected something by mistake in the cleanup
TurboFix touches nothing without confirmation. Before delicate operations, create a restore point (Restore points section).
How to uninstall it
Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find TurboFix and choose Uninstall. Alternatively, Control Panel → Programs and Features.
